Ms. Jackson - ELA & AVID
I am Ms. Jackson, your friendly neighborhood English-Language Arts and AVID instructor! I was educated in Baldwin Park Schools, earned degrees from UC Berkeley (B.A.)/UCLA (M.A.), and have devoted my professional life to educating the students of my community. I am an advocate of making higher education opportunities accessible to all.
Language Arts instruction will target essential standards in four critical areas: (1)reading fiction and informational texts (2) writing in all genres (3) listening to and (4) speaking about texts.
AVID will target WICOR skills (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading).
